Like other Rotary clubs, Pittsburgh East does a variety of community projects such as: raising money for various community charitable organizations, contributing cribs for families without cribs for their children, entertaining Family House residents, entertaining residents of a Pennsylvania veteran's home, helping in a homeless shelter monthly, and hosting Pancake Breakfasts at the The Vintage Senior Center. On the international level, Pittsburgh East helps to support an orphanage in Elhovo, Bulgaria as part of the Orphan Train Project, and is currently working with an orphanage in South Africa to adopt that orphanage as well and help that orphanage with its AIDS children.
